Instructions for use & installation

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

The appliance should be placed in a location that will permit any potential change or checking of the resistance or thermostat, without it being necessary to remove the water heater from its original position. It is recommended to place the appliance as close as possible to the point of consumption in order to ensure minimum heat loss, due to the length of piping.

To mount the appliance, fix its bases to the wall or floor with 2 screw nuts, depending on the appliance type (vertical, floor, horizontal). Screws of a suitable length and diameter should be used to position the appliance, so that they can carry three times the nominal weight of the water heater.

PLUMBING CONNECTION

The plumbing connection of all water heaters can either be made directly to the water supply network or through a water tank. When connecting the water heater to the water supply, the safety valve should be placed on the adduction side (cold water – blue rosette), while the red rosette is connected to the hot water outlet of the installation. The heater’s safety valve is meant to open in case of increased pressure in the plumbing network or heater.

Along with the hot-cold water pipes, the plumber must also place a permanent sewage line (piping – F10 mm) for water that may leak from the safety valve. If the pressure is very low (less than 1 bar), water will not enter the appliance, because the safety valve only permits entry if the pressure is above 1 bar. If the water supply pressure is higher than 6 bar, a pressure regulator must be placed near the meter.

ELECTRICAL CONNECTION

The heater is connected to the main power supply (control panel) through a bipolar switch with a contact opening of at least 4 mm. The electrical connection is made directly to the thermostat contacts (not directly to the resistance), with a cross-section cable of 3×4 mm2. The connection diagram is printed on the inner side of the plastic casing of the resistance. Thus, you must connect cable (L) to the thermostat receptοr number (1) and neutral (N) to the receptor number (4). To earth, connect the yellow cable to the bronze component that is fixed to the resistance gasket. The contacts of the connecting elements must be carefully tightened, the thermostat and pilot light should be checked, and the desired water temperature regulated. The temperature is pre-set at 65 ºC.

ATTENTION!! The cables should be connected to the appliance without causing any damage to their insulation. During the installation, first the plumbing and then the electrical connection should be made.

OPERATION OF THE APPLIANCE

Before putting the machine into operation, make sure that the necessary electrical connections have been completed, and that the plastic cover of the resistance is in place. Then, fill the water heater with water, while keeping the hot water switch open, so that all the air can escape.
